One of the main tasks of SOS Augenlicht e.V. consists of giving macular degeneration patients important information. We want to inform aoubt the risks and side effects of the most important therapies against macular degeneration. Furthermore we want to show possibilities and chances of the most important conventional and alternative medical therapies. For us reports of patients are utterly important, who have made direct experiences with the respective treatment.
The by macular degeneration affected people need sufficient information in order to be able to make a right decision. Because a medic can only suggest a treatment but a patient has to decide for or against it. If the necessary information is amiss he is not able to calculate any possible consequences. A wrong decision can have fatal consequences!
We collected extensive information about the disease macular degeneration by asking over 3,000 affected people and have evaluated this information. This information you find on our website.
The to us reported experiences of patients often do not go hand in hand with the by the therapy promised chances for success. We think that the experience of macular patients is one of the most valuable sign post to a successful treatment.
Often help was possible even then if a patient was seen as not treatable and was considered abandoned.
We wish you all the best for your eyes!
