Macular Therapy by Hancke: Working mechanism
On the brochure of his practice you find the headline: "Macular Degeneration starts in the brain, our therapy does, too".
Mr. Hancke says that the brain was the regulating head for the functions in the eye. The brain regulated as a superior the functions of the entire visual system and thus is responsible for the health of this system including the eyes. Therefore the main reason for macular degeneration is not to be found in the eye itself but has to be searched for and found in the brain.
His therapy was aimed to procure the relevant brain areas to restore more power and thus to help them to implement the regeneration in the eye again as they have done before the disease in order to ensure the health of the eyes, or to counteract a macular degeneration. According to Jürgen Hancke the brain regulates the metabolism, blood circulation and nerve functions of the eyes and thus directly controls the healing mechanisms of the macular.
If the performance of the brain decreases during aging or for example through outer or inner stress it leads to the brain not being able to guarantee the regulation of the macular functions and thus the always needed self healing of the macular due to overload. This could only be counteracted with a performance increase in the brain, says Mr. Hancke.
Summarizing the above the macular therapy by Hancke ought to further basically those self healing mechanisms which were always responsible for the health of the eyes but have suffered in performance during the disease.
The therapy by Hancke is used at both the dry and wet form of macular degeneration.
